Abstract
The principle of non-violence is not a new concept. It has been preached from
times immemorial. In the history of man we come across many sages like Socrates,
Jesus, and Buddha who preached and practiced non-violence. Gandhi had been
inspired by their life and teachings and tries to apply the technique of non-violence to
every walk of life.Etymologically ahiṁsā is composed of three words: a (not) hiṁs
(to kill or injure) and a (nominal suffix)....
