It has stood the test of time and has been very capable and reaffirming in achieving the ends to a great extent. But we still have miles to go. The constitution makers believed that what is sine qua non for the subsistence of the system is independent judiciary. Ergo, greater the stress on its need less it is. The central edifice of the concept of judicial independence is the appointments to the higher judiciary.
