Abstract: The article reports the investigation on the impacts of alien invasive weeds on phyto-diversity of Terai-Duars belt of West Bengal. Invasive weed-invaded and non-invaded vegetation tracts, under same ecological conditions, were sampled and compared to understand their impact on the local biodiversity. Invaded area was inhabitated by a fewer number of species, poor in species diversity, with higher concentration of dominance and poor in species richness. The study suggested further research on the impact of aggressive and invasive alien weeds on Biodiversity and ecosystem of this area.
