It does not recognize identities based on ethnicity, gender, cultural, nationality. Modern liberalism’s commitment to cultural diversity and minority rights emerged out of criticisms from within and outside. Modern liberalism recognizes and accommodates cultural diversity through institutional and policy mechanisms. However, modern liberal states are not free from tensions and conflicts.
