FROM THE EDITOR’S DESK

2019 has been special and remarkable for the Indian Journal of Law and Justice (IJLJ) in more than one way. Firstly, it completes 10 years in contributing in the field of legal academia. Starting its journey in 2010, with the joint effort of the contributors and the Editorial Team, the journal has been the pride of the Department of Law, University of North Bengal ever since.

Secondly, the Indian Journal of Law and Justice has been acknowledged by the internationally acclaimed online database and journal, HeinOnline. Anyone with a subscription of HeinOnline, now can access the Indian Journal of Law and Justice.

The September, 2019 issue of the IJLJ keeps up with it trend of being a legal journal with a focus on multidisciplinary study. The articles raise concerns over the impact of future technology on labour, rights of women, criminal justice system with emphasis on rape law, media trials, environmental issues like Biodiversity Act, climate change and food security, waste management and ground water crisis, corporate social responsibility, transformative constitutionalism, cyber terrorism, role of NABARD, cross border crimes, adjudicatory mechanism under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 in West Bengal and applicability of Res Judicata. Contributions in the Book Review section also attracts special mention.

The Indian Journal of Law and Justice has been a platform for exchange of ideas and dissemination of information for established legal luminaries as well as for the blooming minds of the young faculty and research scholars from the field of law and allied subjects.

Suggestions and opinions for the improvement of the journal is solicited.
